(Looks like we didn't change the time on the cam last spring, it was actually 7:23am)
With the chance of snow i set the alarm clock to go off really early this morning. But, when the alarm clock went off i could heard rain on the window. I checked the "Crabbe Cam" on the website and nothing but dark. No sunrise just yet. Went back to bed for a bit, then my cell phone rang. It was a text message from Jason. "Check the Crabbe Cam - SNOW!!!". I quickly got ready and bolted out the door. Got in the car and started driving to the mountian. Rain changed to flurries on the Keswick Ridge Road and the closer i got to Crabbe the heavier it got. What a suprise turning up Crabbe Mountain Road and seeing snow! Jay and I met at the summit of the mountain, checked out the 4cm of snow, clicked into our skis and voila, October skiing at Crabbe Mountain. We discovered October skiing isn't like November skiing. The grass under the snow was dry and the ground wasn't frozen... really hard to wax for! :)
One after-thought: I live downtown and when i left this morning around 7:45am there were all kinds of people walking to work and cars everywhere. It must have looked really wierd when i stepped off the front porch wearing ski pants, carrying a bunch of ski gear and a ski helmet in October!
The 08-09 season is here!
