Ski & Ride Oct. 31st at Sunday River, Maine...

I was just flipping through my daily assortment of favourite ski area websites and discovered that once again Sunday River (about 6.5 hours from Fredericton) has already been making snow and will be open for skiing and riding tomorrow (Oct. 31) and will be offering free lift tickets to anyone skiing and riding in a Halloween costume.

I spent alot of time skiing early and late season at Sunday River in my younger days. Back in the day when Sunday River, Sugarloaf/USA and Killington were all independently owned and there was a huge rivalry on who would be the 1st resort to open in the east. It was great! We always went on a roadtrip for opening day, usually early October to early November, i think there was even a late September ski day in there and i gotta say, that their passion for skiing and snowboarding has always been a great inspiration to me... the whole "ask skiers and snowboarders what they want" and then do your best to "give them what they want" philosophy!
This time of year skiers and snowboarders are itchin' to hit the slopes, so kudos to Sunday River for listening and "giving them what they want!"
